Kids in Crisis International is a faith-based 501(c)(3) established in 2000. We help children and their families break out of illiteracy, poverty, hunger and hopelessness, and we do it through relationships that have lasted more than two decades.
The name came from what our founders witnessed in Gypsy communities in north-west Romania in the late 1990s: children so impoverished it was not unusual to see them walking barefoot in the snow. All were illiterate, and hopelessness was everywhere.

From a war-scarred village to a K–8 campus.
When Dr. Alex Bolek visited Terekeka County in 2013, he found his family's community devastated by 22 years of civil war. Today Timothy School serves children from several tribes on 988 acres gifted by the village.

- A bore-well, water tower and water yard for the school and the whole community
- Solar power for the teachers' residence and two Starlink systems
- One meal a day for every student, with the ministry of For Afrika
